界外事教

Tiantai's term for the [lang id =1028]別教, which concerned itself with the practice of the bodhisattva life, a life not limited to three regions of reincarnation, but which had not attained to its fundamental principles.

指天台宗所說的別教。 別教的菩薩， 迷中道之理重， 故要分別一切事物以方便悟理， 謂之界外事教。
